The scent of the finca and the morning dew

Get the milking bucket ready!

See how milk gets to the table.

This activity takes place in the morning and lasts between 35 and 40 minutes. Guests are reminded to behave appropriately at all times. Milking and Traditional Songs are included in almost all of our tourist packages.

The Llanero wakes up early in the morning to milk the cows.

Milking in the countryside is essential to life in the city. What city fridge is complete without milk?

Finca El Paraíso gives you the opportunity to milk cows. We’re certain that you’ll have a wonderful time. At the end of the activity, you can enjoy a ‘totuma’ full of warm milk. ‘Totuma’ is a local fruit whose husk is used as a sort of milking bucket.

This activity includes:

1

Lassooing

Let your inner Llanero loose as you learn traditional cattle-roping technique.

2

Llanero Guide

Your expert guide to milking. After lassooing the cattle, your guide will sing to the cows so that they are easier to milk.

3

Totuma

The totuma is a typical fruit of the Llano. It is cut in two, hardened and dried, then used as a sort of milking bucket. There’s no more natural way to collect milk than in a totuma.
